Theory and Hazard Perception Test Training
The Theory and Hazard Perception Test is Split into Two Modules
Module 1 Theory Test
Module 2 Hazard Perception Test
Both Modules must be Passed in the Same Session Before you Can Apply/Book the Practical Test
Theory Test
Consists of 50 multi-choice questions, all based on the Highway Code and Road Safety Matters. The Test lasts 57 Minutes and you will need to Answer 43 Questions out of the 50 Correctly to Pass this Module
The Theory Test is taken using a Touch Screen Computer. Before the Test Begins you will have a Fifteen minute practice session. During the test only one question will appear on the screen at a time, you will be able to navigate backwards/forwards through the questions changing answers if neccessary.
Hazard Perception Test
This comprises 14 video clips and is designed to Measure your Ability to Detect Hazards. 13 of the clips Contain one Single Hazard, and 1 Contains Two Harards. Each Detected Hazard is Worth a Maximum of 5 marks reducing to 0 marks, depending on when the Hazard Detected. You must Attain 44 Marks out of a Possible 75 Marks to Pass This Module.
Show Me/Teel Me. (Part of the Practical Test)
For this part of the Test you will be required to carry out Basic Safety checks on your Driving Test Vehicle. In order to Pass you will need to Answer Two questions correctly. (Questions/Answers Provided Prior to the Practical Test)
Practical Test
The Practical Test lasts Approx 35-40 minutes. It requires that you Show that You have a Sound Knowledge of the Highway Code as well as the Ability to Drive on Various Roads Under Differing Road Conditions.
Manoeuvres
The Examiner may require you to undertake Two of the Following Manoeuvres and Optionally the Emergency Stop:
- Reverse parking behind a parked car or into a parking bay.
- Reversing round a corner.
- Turn in the road
To Gain a Test Pass you must not Accumulate more than 15 Minor Driving Faults or 1 Serious/Dangerous Fault
Documents Required
Both Parts of your Provisional Licence (Photo Card & Paper Counter Part)
If you have the Old Type paper licence you will also have to take a Valid Passport (No other form of Photo ID will be Accepted)
